National Science Day (NSD) is celebrated on February 28th every year in India to mark the discovery of the Raman Effect by the renowned physicist, Sir C.V. Raman, in 1928. The day aims to encourage scientific awareness and innovations in the country. Sir C.V. Raman was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics for his discovery, which remains one of the most significant contributions to science.
Event Highlights
The event commenced with a warm welcome address by the principal Mrs. Trupti Ahaley and Vice Principal Mr. Sanjay Brahmankar, followed by a brief introduction about the significance of National Science Day. The program included various activities such as:
Science Exhibition and Demonstrations: A science exhibition was organized by students, showcasing innovative models, experiments, and projects based on the theme of the year. Some of the exhibits included:
- Solar Energy Projects: Demonstrations on how solar panels work and their role in sustainable energy.
- Space Exploration: A model of a satellite and discussions about the role of space missions in unravelling the mysteries of the universe.
- Robotics: Demonstrations of robots used in various fields of life.
- Digestive system: Students demonstrated a model of a digestive system.
Students from different classes actively participated in the event, either as exhibitors or attendees. A few students also gave brief talks on topics like climate change, space exploration, and the role of science in shaping the future.
